Well, 2022 has been the most eventful year in a very long time- where coronavirus is not the only topic being discussed and published in the news, but instead it has been a year of fitness activities ranging throughout. With the excitement of the quadrennial FIFA world cup came the surge of fitness activities rocking throughout the world, and UAE was not an exception to this incredible awakening. Looking back this year in the nation, we have had multiple fitness opportunities coming forward, but we still have a lot more in this last month of 2022. Find the biggest sports (and esports) events happening this month and are just around the corner- whether you just wish to be a spectator or take part in it!
Khorfakkan Mountain Challenge – 11th December 2022
The Khorfakkan Mountain Challenge will begin on Sunday, courtesy to the collaboration of a number of organizations and institutions. The competition, which will begin at 7 in the morning and cover a distance of 3 kilometers, is anticipated to draw 150 participants of both genders over the age of 16 and of different nationalities.
Dubai Super Cup 2022 – 16th December 2022
Four teams. Four Matches. One Champion. European powerhouses AC Milan, Arsenal, Liverpool FC, and Olympique Lyonnais will compete in the Dubai Super Cup 2022 in a prestigious competition to be declared champion. There will be a total of four games, with each team participating in two of them. A penalty shootout will also be held following each game to award additional points. 3 points will be awarded to the match winner, 2 points each will be awarded to teams in a draw, and 1 point will be awarded to the winner of a penalty shootout. The Dubai Super Cup champion will be the team with the most points at the end of the tournament!
BLAST Premier World Final 2022 – 17th – 18th December 2022
The BLAST Premier World Finals 2022 will bring eight of the top esports teams from all over the world to the Etihad Arena, where they will compete for a piece of the $1 million prize pool and the title of Counter-Strike world champions. There will be a Gaming Fan Zone where you can try out various types of gaming on Saturday, December 17, and Sunday, December 18. Tickets are ranging from AED 50 – 700; with the prior one being exclusive for students.
World Tennis League – 19th – 24th December 2022
The World Tennis League (WTL), a new event on Dubai’s fun winter schedule, will take place at Coca-Cola Arena from December 19 to December 24. With only one ticket, tennis fans will be able to attend three matches (or six if they’re going on the 23rd) followed by an evening performance. The WTA Finals champion Caroline Garcia, the most recent winner of the Paris Masters, Holger Rune, the world No. 6 Felix Auger-Aliassime, and the world No. 5 Aryna Sabalenka round up the tennis lineup.
Ajman Half Marathon – 31st December 2022
The largest running event in Ajman is approaching, and the Amina Hospital, Endurance Sports, and Department of Tourism Development – Ajman are thrilled to be returning to the amazing running series with distances of 21.1 km, 10 km, 5 km, and 2,5 km. The event’s organizers want runners of all ages and skill levels to take part because it is a community activity. The course will be conducted on private roads in a secure and clear path.
With just a few days left for 2022 to end, we believe it is the best time to delve more into fitness and sports is the best motivation for that.
